Jaisalmer: A five-year-old child was killed and three others, including a woman, were injured after a Bolero Camper in which they were travelling overturned near Bhawanipura Champaberi village on the Chalakna-Bachla Road under Sedwa police station in Barmer Friday.
Upon receiving notification, the police arrived at the scene and transported the injured to Dhorimanna Hospital. Two of the wounded were referred for further treatment after initial care. The deceased child's remains were moved to the mortuary at Sedwa Hospital.
According to the police, Chotu Singh (20), Enver Kunwar (40), wife of Shaitan Singh, her son Vikram Singh (14), and Lokendra (5), son of Arjun Singh, along with seven members, were travelling from their village in a Bolero Camper on the Chalakna-Bachla Road to attend a social gathering. The vehicle overturned near Bhawanipura-Champaberi village when an animal suddenly appeared, police said.
Consequently, Lokendra in the vehicle died, while Chotu, Enver Kunwar and Vikram were wounded. The injured were taken to Dhorimanna Hospital, and owing to the severity of their condition, Chotu and Vikram were referred to Sanchore. Enver is receiving treatment at Dhorimanna Hospital.
Sedwa station officer Deep Singh said the body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary at Sedwa Hospital. A case will be registered based on the report from the deceased's family, and further action will be taken, he said.
