Liverpool look to be facing a race against time to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day. The England international has been linked to an Anfield switch for a large portion of the summer with Palace open to selling as he has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park.
Despite rumours surrounding his future, Guehi has featured in all four of Palace's competitive games with one of those a victory over Liverpool in the Community Shield final. The 25-year-old scored and kept a clean sheet in Palace's most recent victory against Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
Guehi later showed no indication of his immediate plans when clapping the away supporters inside Villa Park or during his post-match interview.

Early into deadline day, an outcome look to have been decided as Liverpool reached an agreement with the Eagles to sign their club captain. However, the switch may not be going through now following on from a Palace decision and another important deal collapsing.
With all of that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest updates surrounding Guehi as the deadline fast approaches.
Deal collapse riskAccording to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Guehi has undergone a medical in London but a move to Liverpool is now in jeopardy as Palace are struggling to find an adequate replacement.
That report has added that talks are now ongoing between Guehi and Palace head coach Oliver Glasner in order to make a final decision.
Palace decisionIt looked as though Palace had found a temporary replacement for Guehi with a season-long loan wrapped up for Brighton Igor.
However, as per theGuardian's Ed Aarons, Palace opted against bringing him in following an issue with his medical. The Brazilian defender is now set to sign for West Ham United upon travelling from Palace's training ground over to east London.
£35m agreementLiverpool agreed a £35million deal with Palace for Guehi earlier today with a 10 per cent sell-on clause set to be included.
The reigning Premier League champions saw a bid rejected earlier in the window but their latest proposal has been accepted with it likely Palace wanted to receive a fee to prevent Guehi leaving the club for free. That decision has seemingly been made against the wishes of Glasner.
"I told the chairman we have to keep Marc if we want to play a successful season," Glasner told BBC Sport after his side's 3-0 win against Villa.
"We have no chance to find the right replacement in one day. We all agreed that we just sell Marc if we have the right replacement in the building.
"We wanted a replacement by 1 July. It is 31 August and we have no replacement. We have this agreement so it is clear from me. He is such a crucial player. He is one of our key players - he is our captain."
