The home team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), struggled to put up a competitive score against the disciplined bowling attack of Punjab Kings (PBKS) and were restricted to just 95 runs. The match, affected by rain for over an hour, was reduced to 14 overs per side.

PBKS skipper won the toss and opted to field first. From the first, RCB batters found it difficult to get going, as the PBKS bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths. Several RCB batters threw away their wickets cheaply, failing to build partnerships.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have lost two matches in the tournament and both at their home ground, Chinnaswamy Stadium, and remain in third position on the points table. On the other hand Punjab Kings have also lost two of their matches so far in IPL 2025 and are in fourth position. 

For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Harpreet Brar each claimed two wickets, dismantling the RCB batting line-up. The only standout performer for RCB was Tim David, who scored a quickfire 50 off 26 balls, giving his team a fighting chance with a modest total.
