At CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas, actor Chris Hemsworth revealed that he felt “very intimidated” while working alongside Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry in their upcoming film Crime 101. Hemsworth, 41, made the admission during promotional interviews for the Amazon Prime Video release, directed by Bart Layton and based on a novella by Don Winslow.

'Crime 101' Brings Together Star-Studded Cast
The film stars Hemsworth as Davis, a jewel thief, and features a strong ensemble cast including fellow Marvel actor Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, and Monica Barbaro. Halle Berry plays a key role in the film, which is described as a high-stakes crime thriller.

While Hemsworth has worked with many prominent Hollywood names over the years, he admitted that Berry’s presence brought a different kind of pressure.

“I’ve admired Halle’s work for many, many years,” Hemsworth told E! News. “I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her in a scene and try and not just be in awe of what she was doing.”

Berry Praises Hemsworth for Standing Up for Her
In a separate interview, Berry praised Hemsworth’s professionalism and support on set. Without going into specifics, she said Hemsworth stood up for her during a critical moment while filming.

“He didn’t have to do it, and he did it,” she told E! News. “Instantly I knew I’m going to follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life.”

Berry added that Hemsworth had become one of her “new favorite people in the world” after the filming experience.

Hemsworth Shares Another Fan Moment
In another recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hemsworth revealed that he was equally starstruck by singer Billie Eilish during the 2025 Oscars. He recounted how he hesitated before approaching the Grammy-winning artist for a selfie.

“My kids are going to love this,” he said. “And then the moment I took it, I was like, ‘I went from work colleague to now like a fan.’”

Crime 101 is expected to release on Amazon Prime Video later this year. The film marks another major step in Hemsworth’s evolving career, as he explores more complex and grounded roles beyond his well-known superhero persona. The actor’s comments about Berry have sparked interest in their on-screen chemistry and added buzz around the film’s debut.
