Delhi Weather Today Update: The national capital is in for a spell of overcast weather and light rain. Friday's forecast includes a mix of clouds, drizzle, and the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.

Temperatures are expected to stay slightly cooler than usual, with daytime highs between 33°C and 35°C and nighttime lows around 24°C to 26°C—both below the seasonal norm by one to two degrees.

Early Friday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2°C, about two degrees below the average for this time of year, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Over the coming days, residents can expect consistent cloud cover, intermittent rain ranging from light to moderate, and occasional thunder and lightning.

Looking toward the weekend, July 19 and 20 are likely to bring just a few light showers under mostly cloudy skies. However, by Sunday and Monday (July 21–22), the intensity may pick up again with moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activity making a comeback across the region.

Thursday’s heavy rain brings disruption
Thursday evening brought heavy downpours to parts of Delhi and the NCR, leading to waterlogging and minor disruption.

IMD had issued a weather advisory, predicting rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30–40 km/h. Affected regions included areas across Delhi and parts of Haryana like Jhajjar, Rewari, and Narnaul.

The weather bureau has flagged several localities for potential rainfall activity. In Delhi, alerts were issued for places such as Red Fort, President House, India Gate, Lajpat Nagar, Hauz Khas, Mehrauli, and Tughlakabad.

NCR regions like Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Greater Noida were also on the watchlist, alongside districts in Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh such as Baghpat, Modinagar, Hapur, and Bulandshahr.
