The weather agency has also warned of hailstorms and thundersqualls in Uttarakhand and similar stormy conditions in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely at isolated places across a wide swathe of the country, including Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Vidarbha, and parts of the South, such as Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are expected to prevail at isolated places in Madhya Pradesh, with hot and humid weather forecasted in parts of central Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
Warm night conditions are also likely over parts of West Uttar Pradesh, while dust-raising winds may affect regions in Gujarat.
According to the IMD, heavy snowfall is also very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, while moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in parts of Ladakh.
Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to stay alert and take necessary precautions against both rainfall-related and heat-related risks.
