Following its theatrical release on June 6, 2025, Housefull 5—the latest entry in one of Bollywood’s most popular comedy franchises—is now preparing for its OTT debut. While an official streaming date has not been confirmed, reports suggest the film may arrive on Amazon Prime Video either by the last week of July or in early August, as per Times of India. The digital release is highly anticipated, given the buzz the film generated for its unique storytelling format and ensemble cast.

Housefull 5 Plot

This installment unfolds on a grand cruise liner and opens with billionaire Ranjeet Dobriyal's death from a heart attack, just before the start of his 100th birthday celebration. His passing is kept secret by his son Dev and the board to prevent market panic. Matters escalate when Ranjeet’s will reveals that his £69 billion fortune is to be inherited by Jolly, his son from a previous marriage.

Complications arise when three different men—Julius (Akshay Kumar), Jalbhushan (Abhishek Bachchan), and Jalabuddin (Riteish Deshmukh)—each claim to be Jolly. All three possess matching birthmarks, making the situation increasingly absurd. What follows is a blend of romantic confusion, mistaken identities, and over-the-top investigations—all layered in the franchise’s trademark comedic style.

Double Endings: A Rare Bollywood Experiment

In an unusual move for a mainstream Hindi film, Housefull 5 was released in two separate versions—titled Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B—each with its own climax. This bold narrative experiment was met with enthusiasm, with audiences intrigued by the idea of alternate endings. It added replay value and set the film apart from previous entries in the franchise.

Housefull 5 Star-Packed Cast

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and co-written with Farhad Samji, the film features an extensive cast. Alongside the lead trio, the ensemble includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Mithun Chakraborty, Chitrangda Singh, Fardeen Khan, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Archana Puran Singh, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, and others, all contributing to the film’s chaotic charm.

Before its theatrical release, Housefull 5 had already secured Rs 135 crore from non-theatrical deals, including Rs 75 crore for its digital rights. Its global box office collection of Rs 288.58 crore ensured the film not only recovered costs but emerged as a commercial hit. With the film now gearing up for its OTT release, Amazon Prime Video is set to host this comedy spectacle, offering viewers another chance to board the cruise of confusion.

Housefull 5 has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Firuzi Khan, and Warda Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.
