Thailand has secured a five-year agreement to host the world-renowned Tomorrowland festival, with the government approving a budget of 2 billion baht ($62 million) to support the event. The festival will debut in Asia for the first time at Wisdom Valley in Chonburi, starting in late 2026.
According to a report by Nation Thailand, Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong said the cabinet has cleared funding for the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to oversee the festival from 2026 to 2030. He added that the Ministry of Public Health, the National Economic and Social Development Council, and the Eastern Economic Corridor will work in coordination to facilitate the project.
In its first year, the festival will be financed with 10 million euros (around 400 million baht) from the government’s central fund. The same annual amount will be provided for the following four years.
“The festival is projected to generate more than 12 billion baht in economic activity,” Sorawong stated, as per the report. Officials estimate that more than a million domestic and international visitors will attend over the course of five years.
The event will be organised by VR One World (Thailand), a joint venture between Thai firm One Asia Ventures Co., Ltd. and Belgium-based Tomorrowland International, which owns the festival rights.
The total estimated cost of hosting Tomorrowland in Thailand is 8.881 billion baht, with most of the funding expected from the private sector.
