Apara Ekadashi 2025: In the scriptures, Ekadashi of Jyeshtha Krishna Paksha is called Apara Ekadashi. It is also called Bhadrakali Ekadashi or Jalkrida Ekadashi. “Apara” means one who gives immense fruits. On this day, the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Durga along with Lord Vishnu, Maa Bhadrakali is considered to be especially virtuous. People who observe Apara Ekadashi fast attain salvation. By observing this fast, the mind is purified and the path of spiritual progress opens.

1. Bathe Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit and offer Tulsi
On the day of Ekadashi, after bathing in the morning, bathe the idol of Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey and Ganga water). After this, offer him yellow flowers, basil leaves and yellow clothes. Then chant the mantra 'Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay' 108 times. This remedy is considered to give immense virtue. Worship Goddess Lakshmi along with it.
2. Offer red flowers and Akshat to Maa Bhadrakali
Worshiping the Bhadrakali form of Goddess Durga on this day frees you from fear, disease and enemy obstacles. Offer red flowers, roli, Akshat, and bangles. Offer halwa or jaggery-gram to the mother and chant the mantras of the goddess as per your ability.
3. Make a tableau of water sports in the worship place of the house
Keeping in mind the water sports form of Lord Vishnu on this day, make a small tableau in the worship place of the house. Fill a vessel with water place a small wooden boat in it and place a small statue or picture of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on it. Decorate it with a lamp and flowers. This remedy attracts wealth, happiness, and auspiciousness.
4. Sprinkle Gangajal throughout the house
To purify the water element and remove negative energy, mix a little rose water in Gangajal and sprinkle it throughout the house on this day. Sprinkling it especially in the place of worship, main door and kitchen maintains positive energy and blessings of the gods and goddesses in the house.
5. Light a lamp under the Peepal tree and chant the Vishnu mantra
Light a lamp of sesame oil under the Peepal tree in the evening and chant the mantra 'Om Vasudevay Namah' 108 times. Peepal is believed to be the abode of Vishnu. This remedy destroys the sins of previous births.

6. Donate water and umbrellas to the poor
The heat is more in the month of Jyeshtha and Jalkrida Ekadashi is related to the water element. Therefore, donate cold water, sherbet or water pot on this day. If possible, donate an umbrella or clothes. This gives special virtue and also calms down Pitra Dosh.
