Hariyali Amavasya 2025: The month of Shravan, dedicated to Lord Shiva, has started from 11 July 2025 and will continue till 9 August 2025. The new moon coming in this month is known as Hariyali Amavasya. This year, Hariyali Amavasya will be celebrated on 24 July 2025. On this day, special rituals are performed for the peace and salvation of the souls of ancestors. It is believed that by doing both Pitru Karya and Shiv Puja, not only are the blessings of the ancestors received, but Lord Shiva is also pleased and provides happiness and prosperity in life.

This time, Amavasya Tithi will start on 24 July 2025 at 2:28 pm and will end on 25 July 2025 at 12:40 pm. In such a situation, according to the Udaya Tithi, the festival will be celebrated on 24 July itself.

Auspicious time and yoga:
Brahma Muhurta - from 4:15 am to 4:57 am
Abhijit Muhurta - from 12:00 pm to 12:55 pm
Amrit Kaal - from 2:26 pm to 3:58 pm
Sarvartha Siddha Yoga - will remain throughout the day
Guru Pushya Yoga - will start from 4:43 pm and will remain till 05:39 am the next day

Do these auspicious works on Hariyali Amavasya
Bathing in a holy river on this day is considered very auspicious. If bathing in the river is not possible, then you can take a bath at home by adding a few drops of Ganga water in a bucket or tub.
After bathing, Tarpan, Pinddaan, and Shradh rituals should be performed for your ancestors.

After Pitru Karya, do Jalabhishek or Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva.
On this day, offering water to the Banyan tree or the Peepal tree and lighting a lamp is also auspicious.
Giving food, clothes, and donations to the needy is considered extremely fruitful.
