Importance of Shankh: Shankh has a special spiritual significance in Hindu tradition. According to beliefs, Goddess Lakshmi is very fond of conch and its use is considered necessary in the worship of Lakshmi-Narayan. It is also said that Goddess Lakshmi does not accept the worship in which the conch is not used. The sound of the conch is considered auspicious and sacred. In the house where the conch is blown regularly, Goddess Lakshmi resides permanently.

Apart from the religious point of view, the sound of the conch is also considered a source of positive energy from the point of view of Vastu Shastra, Yoga, and Meditation. Its sound purifies the environment and increases mental peace and concentration. It is believed that the worship of Satyanarayan Vrat is considered incomplete without blowing the conch.
How did the conch originate?
According to religious beliefs, the conch was born at the time of Samudra Manthan. It is one of the 14 gems that were obtained during the Samudra Manthan, and it was ranked at number twelfth. Since there was participation of deities, demons, serpents, Garuda and sages in the Samudra Manthan, the conch is also called Panchjanya Shankh. Its sound is considered a symbol of victory, fame and auspiciousness.
Relation between Lakshmi ji and conch
Both conch and Goddess Lakshmi are believed to have originated from Samudra Manthan. This is the reason why they are considered to have a brother-sister relationship. Therefore, Goddess Lakshmi loves conch very much. It is also said that Goddess Lakshmi resides in conch.
Relation between Lord Vishnu and the conch
Conch is the main weapon of Lord Vishnu. After being obtained from Samudra Manthan, this conch was dedicated to Vishnu ji and since then he holds it in his hand. It is believed that both Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi reside in conch. Anointing Lord Vishnu with the water of conch liberates one from all sins and attains salvation.

Importance of Shankha in the worship of Lakshmi-Narayan
Shankha is not only the brother of Goddess Lakshmi, but it is also the divine weapon of Lord Vishnu. This is why it is very dear to both the gods. Shankha is considered a symbol of fame, prosperity, and well-being. This is the reason why the place of Shankha is considered very important and sacred in the worship of Lakshmi-Narayan.
