Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has once again handed over the captaincy to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Now he will be seen leading the team in place of Rituraj Gaikwad, who was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and former cricketer Ambati Rayudu have expressed happiness over this decision of the franchise. Both said that now Thala will be seen in a different color.

Dhoni becomes captain of Chennai.
Chennai will play its next match against Kolkata on Friday. CSK has suffered a major setback before this match. Captain Rituraj Gaikwad is out of the entire season due to an elbow injury. This was confirmed by team coach Stephen Fleming. He said that Dhoni will now be seen leading the team in place of the star batsman.
Sourav Ganguly expressed happiness.
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly believes that Dhoni should play as captain in IPL. Ganguly said- I believe that if MS Dhoni has to play for CSK, then he has to remain the captain. Because he looks different when he captains.
Ganguly further said- Dhoni is still hitting sixes. We saw it in the last match. He is 43 years old and can no longer play like he used to in 2005. This is natural. But I think he still has the power to hit sixes. With so much experience and understanding of the game, he will do what is right for CSK.
Ambati Rayudu also expressed happiness.
At the same time, Ambati Rayudu also supported Dhoni being made the captain. In a video released by ESPNcricinfo, Rayudu said- It is very sad that Rituraj Gaikwad is out due to injury. But fans will be very excited to see Dhoni playing as captain. Hopefully, he will be able to take the team out of difficult situations and qualify. I am also very excited and hope that Dhoni will spread his magic.

Chennai has lost four matches in a row. The performance of five-time winner Chennai Super Kings has not been very good in the current season. They have lost four times in the five matches played so far. They defeated Mumbai only in the opening match of the season. Currently, the team is in the ninth position in the points table with two points and a net run rate of -0.889. Dhoni captained 226 matches and led CSK to victory in 133. He is the only captain to win more than 100 IPL matches while captaining. After him is Rohit Sharma who has led the team in 158 matches and led them to victory in 87.
