Shiv Ji Ki Puja: Lord Shiva is worshipped daily in most of the houses. People also offer water on the Shivling daily. According to Hindu scriptures, pleasing Bholenath is considered simpler than other gods. It is said that even if a devotee offers water on the Shivling with a true heart, Lord Shiva is pleased with his devotion and blesses him. But it is also important to keep some rules in mind while worshiping Lord Shiva. Some things are prohibited in the worship of Lord Shiva. 1. Tulsi leaves

The use of Tulsi is considered mandatory in the worship of most of the gods and goddesses, but it is forbidden for the worship of Lord Shiva. According to mythology, when Shivji killed the demon Jalandhar, his wife Tulsi cursed Mahadev that she would never be accepted in his worship. For this reason, Tulsi is not used in the worship of Lord Shiva.

2. Ketaki flowers
It is considered forbidden to offer Ketaki flowers in the worship of the Shivling. According to a mythological incident, Brahma ji and Ketaki flower together lied to Lord Shiva that they had seen the end of Shivling. Angered by this lie, Lord Shiva cursed the Ketaki flower that it would never be used in his worship. Since then, this flower has been prohibited in Shiva worship.

3. Kumkum, Sindoor, and Roli
These three things are considered to be associated with the female element and are used in the worship of gods and goddesses. But Shivling is considered a symbol of the male element, so the use of Kumkum, Sindoor or Roli in it is considered inappropriate. There is also a tradition of not offering them in Shiva worship because it can disturb the balance of the energies of worship.

5. Coconut water
Coconut water is not offered on Shivling. Instead, only water, milk or Belpatra is considered appropriate. Broken rice is also considered impure, and should not be offered in worship to any deity, especially Lord Shiva.
