Mumbai: Congress candidate for the Umarga, Lohara assembly elections in Dharashiv district and state Congress secretary Dilip Bhalerao, former working president of the district Congress committee Prakash Ashte joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday along with hundreds of supporters.
The UBT group from Vasai-Virar, former district head, former corporators and office bearers of BVA, as well as office bearers and workers of various parties in Raigad and Amravati district also joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP state president Ravindra Chavan welcomed everyone into the party. Senior leader MLA Prakash Bharasakale, MLA Sneha Dube Pandit, State General Secretary MLC Vikrant Patil, Madhavi Naik, former minister and Latur Rural District President Basavaraj Patil, Media Department Head Navnath Ban among others, were present at this program held at the state office.

10 former members of the Zilla Parishad, 11 former president Of Zilaa Parishad Committees, six former Presidents of Municipal Council, one chairman of market committee, 13 directors of the market committee in Dharashiv district, five former vice presidents of municipal council, five former deputy chairman, two directors of the District Central Co- Operative Bank and 15 municipal councillors also joined the BJP. Former President of Anjangaon Surji Municipal Council, in Amravati District, Devidas Nemade, also joined the BJP along with his colleagues. Many others also joined the party along with Shri Bapusaheb Songire of South Raigad.
On this occasion, State President Shri Chavan said that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the country and the state are moving forward strongly. All of them have joined the BJP with faith in their leadership and inspired by the development oriented policies of the BJP.
