Mumbai: Under the leadership of Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, who is set to retire on April 30, and Special Commissioner Deven Bharti, the Mumbai Police effectively carried out a major security initiative, "Operation All Out," across the city from 11:00 PM on April 26 to 2:00 AM on April 27, 2025.
The operation witnessed the participation of Additional Commissioners of Police from all regional divisions, Special Branch, Protection and Security units, Deputy Commissioners of Police (Zones, Special Branch-I, Security, and Traffic), Assistant Commissioners of Police, Senior Inspectors, and police officers and personnel from all police stations across Mumbai.
The operation included extensive combing operations and special nakabandis (checkpoints) across the city, guided directly by Joint Commissioner (Law and Order) Satyanarayan, who conducted on-ground inspections to ensure effective implementation.
During Operation All Out, a total of 192 combing operations were conducted across Greater Mumbai. Ten wanted and absconding accused were arrested. Forty individuals were booked under Section 142 of the Mumbai Police Act.
Nineteen raids were carried out against illegal arms possession, narcotics offenses, gambling activities, and other unlawful businesses. Twenty-eight individuals were apprehended under non-bailable warrants, and two individuals under standing warrants. Sixty-four preventive actions were taken under Sections 120 and 122 of the Maharashtra Police Act against suspicious persons.
During this operation, 111 checkpoints were set up across various police station jurisdictions. A total of 7,235 two-wheelers and four-wheelers were inspected. 1,836 motorists were penalized under the Motor Vehicles Act for various violations, and 63 drivers were booked for drunk driving under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Mumbai Police emphasized that such proactive security operations will continue to ensure the safety and security of the city in light of recent national threats.
