A bizarre moment occurred during the third ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand on April 5, Saturday at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui as lights went out. In a video surfaced on social media, the ground went dark as floodlights were shut due to power outage at the stadium.
The incident occurred in the 39th over of the innings as Tayyab Tahir was batting, giving Pakistan a glimmer of hope of clinching the contest. The lights went out just as Jacob Duffy ran in to bowl, forcing Tahir to get out of the way. However, the right-handed batter found himself walking back to the pavilion straight after the lights came back on as Duffy dismissed him for 33 off 31 deliveries.

Pakistan suffer 3-0 whitewash as Babar Azam's half-century goes in vain
With the visiting side left to chase 265 in a 42-over contest, Babar Azam scored a half-century, peeling off 50 off 58 deliveries but it was not enough as the Men in Green still fell 43 runs short. Ben Sears took sensational figures of 9-0-34-5 to bowl the Men in Green out for 221 in 40 overs.
The defeat ensured a 3-0 ODI series whitewash and a 4-1 result in the preceding T20I leg. Although Sears took five wickets in the third ODI, the Player of the Match award went to Michael Bracewell for his 59.
