Gita Updesh: Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is not just a religious text, but a wonderful guide to understanding and living life. It teaches us that even in difficult times of life, one should do karma without any selfishness and should not worry about its result. The message of Gita is selfless action, self-realization and faith in God. Today's man is so entangled in the outside world that he has lost his inner peace. Gita inspires us to return to that peace and balance, which is the source of true happiness and love. Apart from this, greed has been described in the Gita as a major obstacle in self-development and attainment of salvation. Lord Krishna has given many important teachings to abandon attachment in the Bhagavad Gita. Attachment means excessive attachment to emotions or substances, which distracts a person from his goal. In the Gita, God has considered it not only a mental disorder, but also the biggest obstacle in the path of enlightenment.
Equanimity and selfless action
Lord Shri Krishna preached Karma Yoga, i.e. selfless action. When we do our actions without any expectation of reward, only as Dharma and duty, our attachment and ego are reduced.
Dispassion and detachment
Lord Shri Krishna preached detachment (withdrawal from love and attraction) and detachment (renunciation of attachment to material things) to renounce attachment. When attachment and delusion are removed from a person's mind, then his intellect becomes stable, and he can recognize his soul. To be free from attachment, it is necessary to give up one's mental attachment to the things of the external world.
Meditation and SadhanaIn Geeta Updesh, Lord Krishna says that the way to renounce attachment is also shown through meditation and sadhana. With regular sadhana, a person can control his mind and end attachment. We should control our soul, because the soul is a part of God. If we awaken our soul with true knowledge and meditation, then renunciation of attachment becomes possible.
