EastEnders Sonia's dad Terry Cant actor's soap past and role on hit BBC series

Terry Cant in , Sonia's dad, made his debut on Monday night played by actor Glen Davies.

Sonia Fowler got the shock of her life when a mystery man, who'd been trying to speak with her, showed up at her house. Monday's episode of the soap ended with quite the bombshell, as the many revealed he was none other than Terry Cant.

With that, Sonia came face-to-face with her long-lost father ahead of her exit from Albert Square. Sonia had been tricked into thinking Rocky was her father a few years back, with Brian Conley's character scamming Sonia at the time.

He was later exposed to be Tom Cotton, the brother of Nasty Nick. Now, Sonia has finally met her actual dad Terry, and the real Terry Cant. But amid the bombshell airing, fans might recognise the actor playing him.

Actor Glen has been in several shows over the years, and he's actually already been on EastEnders twice before now. The roles between 1995 and 2013 were a plumber and someone named Mervyn Dale.

He's also had roles in other soaps, and , as well as Casualty and Holby City. Doctors, Endeavour, Birds of a Feather and Call the Midwife are also on his credits list.

Many fans will remember him from BBC children series Bear Behaving Badly featuring Nev the bear, with Glen playing Andy Prank. Viewers may have also seen him in Miranda, Sherlock, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and New Tricks.

Some of his earlier roles were on shows including The Bill, Rosemary & Thyme, Night & Day, Peak Practice and Inspector Morse. Viewers immediately recognised the actor after seeing the episode, mainly from one show in particular.

Recalling his appearance in Bear Behaving Badly, one viewer said: "So Sonia’s dad is Mr Prank lol." Another fan added: "Key childhood memory unlocked, mr prank, he really did hate that BEAR."

A third fan commented about the actor debuting on the soap: "I knew it was him!!!" as one fan shared a picture from the show in question of his character, writing the caption: "Real OG’s know him from somewhere else."

The comments kept on coming too as more and more viewers realised where they knew him from. One fan said: "It’s angry pants!! I knew it he looked recognisable from somewhere."

A further post said: "Angry Pants!" and another commented: "Angry Pants from Bear Behaving Badly." One more read: "I knew I recognised him! I thought it was Mr Prank for a second but wasn't sure!"

One viewer even recalled his past EastEnders stint in a different role. They said: "He was on the episode which had Carl White's first appearance. Carl pretended to be a plumber to get into Bianca's home then this guy came a bit later as the actual plumber."
