How to watch the Nintendo Direct Indie World showcase and start time for the latest Switch 2 reveals

Nintendo has swiftly followed its recent Partner Showcase with a brand new spotlight for indie titles, coming hot on the heels of games like Katamari and Persona making their way onto Nintendo consoles.

It seems Nintendo has been rather busy. The latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase arrived after a month of fan speculation, hoping for a full showcase of first party titles. Despite showcasing some impressive games, some players were left feeling underwhelmed. Still, two Directs are better than none, right?

Following the showcase that was bound to disappoint some (apologies, but that new Animal Crossing reveal is still pending), Nintendo has another trick up its sleeve – a fresh Indie World showcase, expected to unveil new Nintendo Switch 2 2025 titles from smaller teams and solo developers to round out the rest of Nintendo's year. And no, we're likely not seeing Hollow Knight Silksong. Believe me, no one is more upset about this than I am.

Nonetheless, there are plenty of reveals in the upcoming Nintendo Direct Indie World that appeared out of the blue, including some hopeful upgrades for existing indie titles as well as some entirely fresh games that we've never seen before, if we're lucky – so when can we expect it? Here's the Nintendo Direct Indie World start time, and how to watch the showcase.

How to watch the Nintendo Direct Indie World

The Nintendo Direct Indie World showcase kicks off at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST on Thursday, August 7. You can catch it live on the Nintendo of America YouTube channel.

The showcase is scheduled to run for 15 minutes, revealing details about indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Everyone's hoping for updates on existing games, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

It's not going to be a lengthy showcase, which does raise questions about what Nintendo has in store for players – but we'll just have to wait and see. If we get another Friends of Jimbo pack for Balatro, like the one unveiled at the last Indie World, we'll be over the moon. And of course, Silksong, but we've been let down before.
