A woman decided to get the worst rated Too Good To Go bag from her local area to see if it was worth the price, but the contents shocked her.
Too Good To Go – an app that allows thrifty shoppers to score discounted food from shops, cafes and restaurants that would otherwise go to waste – has soared in popularity in recent years. People picking up the bags, however, have no say in what they will receive and the food they get isn't always what they might expect, resulting in them giving the store or eatery a bad review on the app.
To see whether the rankings are actually telling for what's in the bag, one woman named Dayna, from Glasgow, decided to get the worst rated Too Good To Go bag that she could find to see if it was truly as bad as people made it seem.

"Good evening, guys. I'm gonna go check out the worst rated Too Good To Go bag," she said at the start of the TikTokvideo before she entered the shop.
She walked into the corner shop and went to get herself a can of Coca Cola before strolling over to the till to ask for her Too Good To Go bag. As she was in the chilled aisle to grab her drink, she noticed some discounted items and wondered if she would be getting them in her bag. These items included several chicken salad sandwiches, blueberries, and a fruit salad mix.
As the man at the till went to pack her bag, she told her viewers: "Okay, we're getting weird vibes. So when I walked in and I tried to get it, he said 'don't press it yet, because we might not have anything left'," she said, talking about the confirmation button in the Too Good To Go app.
However, the employee soon return with a bag filled with items for Dayna, which she brought to her car to quickly unbox to see what she got.
"So, in terms of customer service, I'm not gonna lie that took a very, very long time to get that Too Good To Go bag," she said before getting seated in her car.
After putting her camera up to film, she said: "Alright, shall we see if this Too Good To Go bag really deserves a two point two star rating on Too Good To Go? I think we should."
She then started laughing after having spotted a big block of lard in her bag. However, after revealing she paid £3.49 for her bag, Dayna went on to grab the first items from the bag, which were two of the discounted chicken salad sandwiches that she spotted in the store, which were originally priced at £.1.78 each, according to the yellow stickers on them.
"Next out the bag, we've got a wee loaf of brown... to be fair, this is the bread that I eat," she said as she held up the food.
After having put the loaf of bread away on the passenger seat, she reached back into the mystery bag and took out a block of lard.
"I just can't," she said as she laughed. "What the hell? What am I gonna do with this? I got a block of lard."
"It gets worse," she continued as she picked up a second block of lard from the bag. "I've got two blocks of lard! [...] Maybe I can have a lard sandwich."
Continuing with the next items from the bag, she unpacked another loaf of bread, this time being a seeded cob from Hovis. For the final item, she unveiled a packet of blueberries and a packed of fruit salad she'd seen in the store earlier.
"I mean, you don't have to be a psychic to know what was going to be in this bag. We pretty much saw it as we walked in the shop," she said, clearly in disbelief over the items she received.
Viewers soon took to the comment section of the video, with many sharing their thoughts on what she received.
"The fruit salad might taste vinegary because it’s nearly out of date," one person pointed out, while another viewer wrote: "Absolutely HOWLING!! Nah who even uses lard anymore."
However, someone else said: "I don’t see the issue here you got two loafs some sandwiches lard (you use it too cook with) and some fruit all for just over 3 quid - some people would be grateful for this."
"I have seen worse, it’s not the best but definitely not the worst, a lunch for 2 in the form of a sandwich and fruit, as well as some breakfast using the cob for toast and bread as a side to a meal, would probably have gotten 3 stars for me," another person said.
