Jack Osbourne breaks down in tears over 'perfection' around Ozzy's death

Ozzy Osbourne's son, Jack, burst into tears as he spoke of his father's death. The Prince of Darkness died aged 76 on July 22, just weeks after he performed his farewell Black Sabbath concert at his beloved Villa Park, in his hometown of Birmingham.

While the Osbourne family have previously posted tributes to the late great musician, Jack, has now spoken in detail about the death of his father, including how he was informed of the heartbreaking news, while on the other side of the world. Following the Back to the Beginning concert, Jack stayed with his family in the UK for a week.

He decided to return to his home in Los Angeles just days before Ozzy tragically took ill and suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Ozzy's death certificate later confirmed that his cause of death was ruled to be acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction (joint causes).

Now, Jack has spoken out about the devastating news on his YouTube channel and says there was "almost a perfection" around the death of Ozzy. He said: "One thing that has kind of stuck with me about my father's exit was how, you know, there is almost a perfection to it.

"He got to say goodbye in such a profound way. He got to thank his fans. He got to see his friends he hadn't seen in such a long time. He got to perform, I mean, there was so much accomplished before the full stop. And you know, a lot of that stuff when the time is right, you know, we'll talk about."

Jack continued: "Um, it's been overwhelming ultimately, and one of the most, I think, for me, I know, I was shocked at the outpouring of love. I think it's been beautiful. As I said earlier, it's been validating to see that outpouring of love. People that sent cards and did posts, and whether they laid flowers at the Birmingham bridge or dropped them off at the house, we saw it all, we read all the letters.

"It didn't go unnoticed and I speak for the family when I say this, we are so grateful for that and it meant so much and as I said earlier, it was validating as I know we're not alone, it's been a hard six weeks as a family, we're navigating it alone and in our own ways.

"I think it's common, and the price we pay for loving someone so much is grief, and it's the pain of grief when they're gone. I'm ok with that." Jack also revealed that he received a knock on the door from a family employee at around 3:45am on July 22 – nine days after he returned to Los Angeles.

"I knew something bad had happened," he said, before explaining that the employee had informed him that Ozzy had died at home. But Jack realised that while he had "so many thoughts", he realised that his beloved father was no longer suffering from his illnesses.

But the news was not something the family had expected due to Ozzy being in such good spirits in the days leading up to his death. In a statement on the day of Ozzy's death, the Osbourne family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."
