The family ofPatrick Kielty as are to have known was marriage to Cat Deeley was over due to a specific moment - and it's thought to have left them seething.

The TV duo issued a joint statement last monthto confirm they had gone their separate ways. At the time, they said: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.

"We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”

And while the bombshell statement came across as amicable, it's said that one move by This Morning host Cat, 48, left 54-year-old Patrick's family annoyed. Cat's 'no show' at the funeral of Patrick's mum Mary in March is said to have left the Kielty family angry and it's thought this moment confirmed to them that their relationship was fully finished.

A relative told the Daily Mail: "Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something as a momentous as his mother's funeral, you would make up even temporarily and just put your 'best face' on as we say in Northern Ireland.

"Cat obviously knew how close Patrick was to Mary and she should have come to be by his side, a hand on his shoulder as he buried his mother. The fact that she stayed in London and presented This Morning on the day, it's not been forgotten."

And the source claimed people still can't believe Cat's actions, adding: "It was the point when we all realised that that marriage had ended."

A spokesperson told Mirror at the time: "Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day."

Patrick's family are now said to be rallying around the presenter as he comes to terms with his future. The duo had met while hosting BBC's Fame Academy together in 2002. However, they only made their first public appearance as a couple nine years later in 2011.

Just a year later in September 2012 and they had tied the knot at a ceremony in Rome and have two children together. While Cat works alongside Ben Shephard on This Morning, Northern Irish presenter Patrick is the host of RTE talk show The Late Late Show, having taken over from Ryan Tubridy in 2023.

It's unclear when the couple split. However, with the duo spending time apart due to conflicting schedules in Ireland and London, it's thought this may have contributed to their break-up.

The last time Cat referenced Patrick on her Instagram was in October 2023. At the time, she posted an unusual 90s-themed slideshow of the pair of them. She wrote: "Slightly terrifying but obsessed."

And the last public event appearance for the pair came a month earlier. At the time, she also shared a post on her social media. It showed the duo smiling at the event as they got ready for the occasion and then sat in the crowd. Patrick was later seen in the clip being welcomed on stage.
