What new look Elland Road will look like as Leeds United reveal stadium plans

Leeds United have unveiled images of the proposed new Elland Road with an aim to boost its capacity to an eventual 56,500 and the Yorkshire giants have said it will now host two consultation events open to the public to raise queries around the redevelopment, along with an exhibition next month to showcase their plans.

Leeds, who have already sealed a return to the , face Bristol City in their final home game of the season on Monday night.

And with Elland Road’s current capacity at 37,645, the club says it hopes the expansion will ease a season-ticket waiting list of 26,000.

The plans, which were first revealed in September last year, will see the west and north stands revamped plus further changes to the south stand, while new hospitality facilities will be developed.

In a brief statement after unveiling the images, the club said: “Last week, Leeds City Council’s Executive Board unanimously agreed the regeneration vision and Councillors will now be discussing the pre-application for the modernisation of Elland Road Stadium at a Plans Panel meeting on Thursday 8th May 2025, with the view to increase the capacity from 37,645 to up to 56,500. The estimated final capacity of the design in progress is approximately 53,000.

“An evolution of what makes Elland Road great, the revitalisation of the West and North Stands, along with changes to the South Stand, will provide greatly improved general admission and hospitality facilities, to help meet the demand for tickets, with 26,000 supporters currently on the club’s season ticket waiting list.

“Fans and members of the local community can visit a public exhibition at the Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road, which will be open from Thursday 22nd May 2025-Friday 23rd May 2025, or one of two consultation events as part of a community roadshow in Leeds.”

Meanwhile, speculation continues around the future of head coach Daniel Farke despite his success at guiding the club back to the Premier League.

Farke has been relegated twice from the top tier and there are reportedly concerns among the club's ownership around whether he is the right man to secure their status next season.

That is fuelled by the promoted teams going straight back down in the past two campaigns.
