In a high-stakes midnight encounter in Delhi’s Rohini area, a joint team of the Bihar Police and Delhi Police Crime Branch gunned down four of Bihar’s most wanted gangsters, including the notorious criminal Ranjan Pathak — the leader of the deadly “Sigma & Company” gang.

According to official sources, the operation took place around 2:20 a.m. between Doctor Ambedkar Chowk and Pansali Chowk on Bahadur Shah Marg. Acting on a tip-off about the gang’s presence, police surrounded the area and launched a search operation. Sensing the trap, the criminals opened fire on the police, who retaliated swiftly. The fierce exchange of bullets ended with all four gangsters being neutralized on the spot.

The deceased were rushed to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar (BSA) Hospital in Rohini, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Fortunately, no police personnel sustained serious injuries during the operation.

Those killed have been identified as:

  • Ranjan Pathak (25), son of Manoj Pathak, resident of Malhai, Sursand Police Station, Sitamarhi, Bihar.

  • Bimlesh Mahato alias Bimlesh Sahni (25), son of Sukhla Devi, resident of Ratanpur, Bajpatti Police Station, Sitamarhi.

  • Manish Pathak (33), son of Arvind Pathak, resident of Malhai, Sursand Police Station, Sitamarhi.

  • Aman Thakur (21), son of Sanjeev Thakur, resident of Sherpur, Karawal Nagar, Delhi.

Ranjan Pathak, who carried a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, was wanted in multiple cases of murder, extortion, and robbery. His gang, “Sigma & Co.,” was responsible for at least five high-profile killings in Sitamarhi and neighboring districts like Muzaffarpur and Madhubani.

Police sources revealed that after a recent crackdown in Bihar, the gang had fled to Delhi and was using the city as a hideout. The joint operation marks a major breakthrough for both Bihar and Delhi Police, as it effectively dismantles one of the most feared criminal networks operating across state borders.
