
At least 34 people are dead after a tourist boat carrying 53 people overturned in Vietnam, it has been reported. Of the bodies recovered, there are eight children, according to the state-run Vietnam News Agency, which cited local officials.
Incliment weather, including lightning, strong winds and heavy rain were reported in the region as Storm Wipha made its way through the South China Sea.
Local newspaper VnExpress reports that the majority of the tourists involved were from Vietnam's capital, Hanoi.
Halong Bay, which is located around 125-miles to the northeast of the city, attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually, and boat tours popular.
