In a heart-wrenching episode of Celebrity Traitors aired on Thursday (23 October), another contestant was shown the door, leaving viewers at home "in tears" with his poignant exit speech.
The Faithfuls are still grappling to identify the Traitors among them, and in the latest roundtable, the spotlight fell on Stephen Fry. Despite being a Faithful, he was sadly ousted, marking the second departure in the episode after actor Mark Bonnar's earlier dismissal.
Upon his exit, Stephen expressed his enjoyment of the BBC One show to his co-stars, praising the cast as "extraordinary", before bidding a sorrowful goodbye to the castle.
BBC viewers were left teary-eyed by the scene, with one commenting on X: "Wait bc why did i start getting emotional at Stephen's goodbye speech #CelebrityTraitors.
"I'm amazed he lasted this long - I thought they'd all gun for him early doors - but Sir Stephen Fry breaks a nation's hearts as he exits. #TheCelebrityTraitors #TheTraitors #CelebrityTraitors," another wrote.
A third concurred: "Aww Stephen's speech got me #CelebrityTraitors," while another viewer admitted: "Shed some serious tears at the loss of Sir Stephen Fry tonight. Absolutely dreadful group of faithfuls. #CelebrityTraitors."
Another fan of The Traitors chimed in: "I cannot believe that Stephen has gone and Kate is still in there #CelebrityTraitors."
Stephen's heartfelt farewell speech saw him honour all of his Traitors co-stars, reports Wales Online.
The TV personality declared: "Oh, I've had the best fun for years. Honestly, what an extraordinary bunch of people all of you, and the banished and the ones who aren't here for me to thank.
"It's been such an extraordinary and wonderful few days. To be part of such a group is a privilege and an honour, a deep delight and pleasure. So, thank you all and no hard feelings, promise. I am of course, as I told you all along, a Faithful."
After Stephen's elimination, Claudia urged the remaining group they must "focus" and channel all their energy into identifying a Traitor, having once again come up empty-handed.
Later that evening, Jonathan, Nick, Kate and Lucy each discovered a letter, warning them they faced potential murder following an earlier challenge.
Yet it emerged they would meet their fate at the hands of the Traitors face-to-face, with the casualty due to be revealed in the next episode on Wednesday, 29 October.
Celebrity Traitors airs on Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
