A field of 30 horses will be in the running for this year's Irish Grand National on Easter Monday at Fairyhouse Racecourse. Haiti Couleurs, who is trained by Rebecca Curtis, leads the British bid as they go in search of a and Irish National double.
Haiti Couleurs won the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham back in March under Ben Jones, but it will be champion jockey-elect Sean Bowen who saddles up on Monday. Gavin Cromwell's Now Is The Hour has emerged as the closest competitor in the odds list, having fallen in the race that Haiti Couleurs triumphed in at Cheltenham last month.
Champion trainer Willie Mullins has two horses in the running, with Sa Majeste and Quai De Bourbon both in contention. Whereas JP McManus will have the likes of Bioluminescence and Sa Majeste lining up ahead of the Easter Monday race.
Rachel Blackmore, who has never won the Irish Grand National, will mount Harry Des Ongrais. Meanwhile, the two-time winner of the race, JJ Slevin, is set to ride Desertmore House at the Fairyhouse meet.
