Russian TV presenter and Kremlin's key propagandist Vladimir Solovyov spoke to Russian media with a warning to Donald Trump ahead of his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska later today. In the Russian radio show Full Contact, the presenter close to Putin said today's meeting is "very important" and warned Trump to stop giving ultimatums to Russia.
Trump said on multiple occasions that if Putin doesn't stop the war against Ukraine, there will be consequences. "Yes, there will be very severe consequences," Soloyov said in his chilling speech. "We will destroy all of Ukraine." He continued: "If Trump thinks he can dictate to Putin, he is mistaken." He added that Russia can destroy America as well, and although he admitted that the US can destroy Russia, he pointed out Russia can do it "faster and more effectively." His words then became even scarier as he said "we can destroy all of them with nuclear weapons", referring to the West.
Solovyov thinks that today's meeting won't go as planned by the West, describing European leaders and Trump as "rothless representatives of worthless countries" who cannot impose their will on Putin.
"We know that West wants to destroy us," he continued. "Our goal is to do everything for our country to win... if we don't win, we won't exist."
Television presenter Solovyov now openly promotes President Putin's policies, and is notoriously known for extreme rhetoric against Ukrainians and the West. He uses his broadcast platform to amplify Russian government propaganda and misinformation.
Solovyov was born in Moscow in 1963. He studied philosophy and journalism at Moscow State University before beginning his career as a journalist and political commentator. Early in his career, Solovyov was regarded as an independent journalist, but his recent output aligns closely with the Kremlin's position.
In 2013, he stated that Crimea "rightfully belonged to Ukraine." However, after Russia's unlawful seizure of Crimea in 2014, his stance shifted, declaring: "Crimea and Sevastopol are once again part of Russia".
Over the years, and particularly following the unlawful Russian invasion of Ukraine, he often threatened the West with nuclear attacks.
