What was supposed to be a wholesome day out with her stepfather quickly became something out of a nightmare for this teenager who was killed by a bear.
Olga Moskalyova was just 19 when she was on a summer walk in Siberia, Russia, with her stepdad, Igor Tsyganenkov. As the two took off for a lovely day along the river, things quickly turned to horror when the pair were came across a vicious predator.
The teenager was on the phone to her mother, Tatiana, when they were both attacked by a number of wild bears, and her mum heard the entire, horrifying, incident unfold. Olga called her initially out of fear, telling her what they'd come across, before the phone was ripped away from her and she was to never hear or see her daughter again.
First, Olga witnessed the terrifying moment the bear went in on her stepdaughter before the mother bear chased her for 70 yards before she caught hold of her leg. During the attack she called her mother several times to warn her. According to reports, she cried out: "Mum, the bear is eating me! Mum, it's such agony. Mum, help!"
Initially, Tatina, on the other end of the phone line, thought this was a joke, but once she heard the growling and chewing sounds, she knew it was a serious tragedy. She recalled: "But then I heard the real horror and pain in Olga's voice and the sounds of a bear growling and chewing."
She added she could have "died then and there from shock". Her daughter continued to call her a number of times until an hour later, she made her very last call, and her final words were tragic.
According to Tatina, her last words were: "Mum, it's not hurting any more. I don't feel the pain. Forgive me for everything; I love you so much."
Distraught and in disbelief at what had just happened to her child, Olga's mother contacted the police, who arrived at the horrific scene an hour and a half later. Six hunters were sent to track down and kill the bears, but when they were discovered, they were still allegedly feeding off of the teenager's dead body.
Before her sudden and frightening death, Olgor was thought to be a "fun, warm and friendly" young girl, as described by her mother, who had a whole life to look forward to. Her mother said: "She had graduated from music school, and just days before the bear attack, she got her driving licence."

Both Olga and her stepfather who died beside her, were laid to rest and buried on the same day in 2011.
It's thought that bear attacks are all the more common in Russia, especially in wildlife areas where they are in search of food and feel the humans are encroaching on their space.
