Yellowstone's upcoming spin-off Y: Marshals, which will follow Luke Grimes' character Kayce Dutton, has just added a major name to the main cast.
Logan Marshall-Green, known for roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Upgrade, will be playing Pete Calvin, a friend from Kayce's military service.
Details about his role within the narrative are unknown, but Pete is expected to be one of Kayce's teammates on the team of US Marshals tackling crime across Montana.
Announced back in March, Y: Marshals is the first time a Yellowstone series will premiere on CBS rather than the Paramount Network or Paramount+.
In addition to the upcoming spin-off centred on Kayce's sister Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) and her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), the next offshoot will continue the family saga following the departure of leading man Kevin Costner as ranch owner John Dutton.
A release date has yet to be confirmed, but the first 13-episode outing is expected to air halfway through the 2025-26 season.
Episodes will be dropping weekly on Sunday nights, in line with previous Yellowstone instalments.
An official logline for the series reads: "With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region's war on violence."
Grimes and Marshall-Green are currently the only stars officially attached to the series, although Kelsey Asbille and Brecken Merrill are rumoured to reprise their roles as Kayce's wife and son, Monica and Tate, respectively.
The first episode is written by Spencer Hudnut and directed by Greg Yaitanes.
Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is on board as executive producer, as well as Grimes.
Writer Hudnut, who has penned episodes of SEAL Team and The Blacklist: Redemption, is the series' showrunner.
Marshall-Green is a familiar face to moviegoers, having starred in blockbusters such as Prometheus and, more recently, Netflix thriller Carry-On.
On the small screen, he's had a major role as Adam in the latest season of Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That... and is no stranger to modern Westerns having starred opposite Katheryn Winnick in the second season of Big Sky.
The Yellowstone series is available to stream on Paramount+ and Netflix.
