Two men from Haryana found dead on railway tracks in Jaipur

JAIPUR: The mutilated bodies of two Haryana men found under mysterious circumstances on the railway tracks near Jaipur's JP Phatak on April 11 were identified as Ikram (31), a resident of Nuh, and his friend Mausam (28), a native of Mewat, on Monday.

Bajaj Nagar police sub-inspector Ram Kripal said the bodies were discovered about 100 feet apart on a double railway track. The bodies were sent to their native villages after identification on Monday.

Due to the location of the bodies, two inquest proceedings were initiated—one at Bajaj Nagar police station and the other at Jyoti Nagar police station—as one body was found on the opposite side of the tracks falling under Jyoti Nagar's jurisdiction.

Police said Ikram was working as a fruit vendor in Jaipur's Lal Kothi market for a long time. According to relatives, Ikram travelled to New Delhi recently, where he met Mausam. The two became friends, and Ikram invited Mausam to Jaipur to explore work opportunities in the local fruits and vegetables market. Mausam reportedly arrived in Jaipur on April 10.

"On the morning of April 11, we received an information about two bodies lying on the tracks. Both were severely mutilated, making identification difficult," an official said. "Family members were searching for them, and after considerable effort, the two were identified on Monday."

Police added that the duo may have been run over by Shatabdi Express. However, they said the case does not appear to be a suicide at first glance. "It's unlikely to be a suicide, but we cannot rule out the possibility of an accident. The sequence of events remains unclear, and we are speaking with Ikram's relatives in Jaipur for more information," the official added.
