Kochi: In raids conducted in Ernakulam rural police limits under Operation P Hunt, campaign against child pornography, police seized eight mobile phones. Two phones each were confiscated from Angamaly, Ayyampuzha and Koothattukulam. Police also seized one phone each from Kalady and Kothamangalam.
Operation P Hunt is conducted as part of identifying and taking legal action against those who download, view, store and distribute child pornography from various porn sites. Inspections were carried out in 18 locations across five sub-divisions as part of the raids.
Police said reports would be filed on each seizure and appropriate further action would be initiated. The campaign aims at preventive action against paedophiles lurking in online spaces, said police.
