Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has introduced National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) for passengers travelling by Aapli Bus. The service was formally launched on Tuesday at the NMC headquarters by commissioner and administrator Abhijeet Chaudhari.

The move marks a significant step towards digital-first, future-ready urban mobility and aligns with PM Narendra Modi's vision of "One Nation, One Card" to encourage cashless transactions. With this card, Aapli Bus commuters will no longer need to carry cash. NMC collaborated with its technology partner Chalo to implement the NCMC system.

Chaudhari announced that going forward, the NCMC will be the standard card for Aapli Bus travel. While older NMC-issued cards will remain valid until expiry. No extra charges will be levied for replacing old cards.

Currently, NCMC is not valid in travel by Nagpur Metro, but integration is underway. Once implemented, commuters will be able to use a single card for both metro and bus travel.

Cards are available at bus depots in Wadi, Hingna, Patwardhan Ground, and Naka No. 13, and can be recharged online or via the Chalo app.
