The feud between American president Donald Trump and rock star Bruce Springsteen has escalated to a level where the president himself reshared a video of him hitting Springsteen with his golf ball. On Wednesday, Trump took to X and Truth Social to share a video of him hitting a golf ball that flies away and hits Springsteen on the head as he trips and falls on the stage of his show.
The post has gone viral all over social media with people getting surprised by the President's not so subtle outburst on Springsteen.
What did Bruce Springsteen do to upset Trump?
The video shared by the President comes as part of an ongoing feud between the two popular American faces who have traded barbs publicly after Springsteen's comments during the opening show of his European tour last week.
“The America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” he said.
He also went on to accuse the Trump administration of "abandoning the world's poorest children to sickness and death... taking sadistic pleasure in the pain that they inflict on loyal American workers,” and rolling back civil rights in the United States.
Springsteen's vocal condemnation of Trump is not just limited to public remarks, according to Variety the singer will be including his comments about Trump on an EP he's releasing of the recent concert.
Trump strikes back
While initially the Trump administration replied with a statement saying, “the 77 million Americans that elected President Trump disagree with elitist and out-of-touch celebrities like Bruce Springsteen.”
Trump himself later took to his social media platform Truth Social to brand Springsteen as "overrated" and "jerk"
“Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country,” wrote the President.
Online, MAGA supporters have been having the time of the day with Trump's obvious attack on Springsteen, writing comments such as "You’ve got to love this man. 💯😆😆" and "😂😂 There will never be another politician like Trump"
Recently, Trump has been in a personal war with famous faces, including Springsteen and Taylor Swift. Last Friday, he posted how, ever since he had declared that he hated her, Swift was no longer considered "hot"
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” he wrote.
Additionally, other musicians such as Neil Young and Eddie Vedder have also publicly condemned Trump's administration over "ruining America" and "threats to voice in public"
