There’s no doubt that at this moment, GTA 6 is the most hyped video game in the world. The anticipation regarding this title has grown so much that it is not even restricted in the gaming world only. However, Rockstar doesn’t seem to be very much co-operative, keeping in mind the ongoing hype.
It’s been more than a year since fans got the only trailer of the game, and after that, the developers have stayed silent as we didn’t get any further solid update. Although we do know that this game is coming to PlayStation and Xbox in the fall of 2025, but what about the Nintendo Switch 2 ?
GTA 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2 is highly likely
The Switch 2 is going to be the most powerful console of Nintendo. But will it be able to handle the graphical demands of a huge title like GTA 6? Yes, maybe it can. The upcoming console is going to be released on June 5 and Nintendo has already announced some big names which are going to be playable on the Switch 2.
But GTA 6 is not one of those big names, as it might be too much for a handheld form-factor. However, Cyberpunk 2077 is already there, so running a hardware-demanding game might not be a big problem for the Switch 2.
On the other hand, there are other Take-Two titles as well which are confirmed for this handheld console like NBA 2K, WWE 2K, Borderlands 4, and Civilization 7. Hence, fans can keep aspiring another Take-Two title surfacing on the console in the name of GTA 6.
However, Richard Leadbetter of Digital Foundry has already said that it would be "very, very tricky to pull off" to play Grand Theft Auto on the Switch 2. Ray-tracing and lighting models are two examples of factors that suggest GTA 6 is a step or two above what the Switch 2 might be able to do.
Leadbetter threw some actual facts as being a lighting model, the Nintendo Switch 2 might not have a good non-RT fallback. That means Switch 2 might not be capable enough to run all the raytracing to run GTA 6.
Speculations will be there on both sides, but the ultimate answer will be delivered when the game launches in the fall 2025.
