The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bet big on bulk to thump the Philadelphia Eagles' 'tush push' tactic

Send Push
NFL team owners recently gathered last Wednesday to vote for one of the most controversial tactics popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles , the ‘ tush push .’ With only 22 votes in the proposal to ban the polarizing tactic, it reflected bias and safety concerns for players. The Cleveland Browns and the Miami Dolphins are two of the 10 teams that voted against the proposal. Although Philly still has the advantage of the tush push, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers believe they have figured out a way to counter the Eagles' most divisive physical move. The Buccaneers’ trolling for the Eagles’ move weighs a jaw-dropping 810 pounds.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers find a new way to use 810 pounds: End the ‘Tush Push’ era

Amid the ongoing buzz about the tush push remaining, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers attracted attention by sharing a video on X captioned, “How to stop the Tush Push.” With defensive tackle Vita Vea weighing an incredible 346 pounds and K.J. Brit (now a Miami Dolphins member) weighing 235 pounds, the clip showcased an amazing defensive wall countering this move. The Buccaneers showcasing their incredible defense to succeed in not letting the ball pass the goal line is one of the tricks they pulled online on the Eagles.

Additionally, another video that surfaced from the Buccaneers' X feed bragged about the powerful defensive tackle Vea and another defensive tackle, Desmond Watson . With Watson joining from Florida as an undrafted rookie, he and Vea combined to weigh an incredible 810 pounds the previous season. The Bucs have dominated the Eagles on several occasions despite the tussle being in play as an Eagles’ advantage. The Bucs are a real threat, as evidenced by their dismissal of the tush push strategy and their 33-16 victory over the Eagles in week four of the previous season.

Like every NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also using the offseason to polish their skills to make the best effort to continue their winning streak against the Philadelphia Eagles.
