“We don't like each other!”- WWE star Drew McIntyre opens up about his bitter relationship with CM Punk

Drew McIntyre , who last appeared on the March 21, 2025, edition of WWE SmackDown , has made the headlines yet again for his relationship with CM Punk . He has opened up about his bitter relationship with CM Punk. Their in-ring rivalry has been a highlight for the fans, but in real life too they don't get along much

On April 7, 2024, won the World Heavyweight Championship against his opponent Seth "Freakin" Rollins, which emanated live at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

However, McIntyre's celebration was short-lived, as he confronted CM Punk after the match, who was present as a commentator. The feud between them led CM Punk to attack McIntyre during the WrestleMania match.

Drew McIntyre has recently addressed his bitter real-life relationship with his fellow WWE wrestler CM Punk, citing personal and professional grievances.

Speaking on the WAFFLIN’ Podcast, McIntyre said, “We don’t like each other. We genuinely don’t. But we’re able to be professional enough within the confines of WWE to turn it into magic on television, which it was, because it was very much based in reality.


He further added during the podcast, “Every week, how good he is at his job, how good I am at my job, we’re trying to top each other because of that personal rivalry, and because we’re such professionals and because we’re good at our job.”

He also highlighted how every week on WWE shows, he was trying to outdo himself. Drew McIntyre further said, “That’s what it was every week, was trying to outdo each other, outdo each other, outdo each other, and the people that benefited the most were the fans.

Drew McIntyre has criticized WWE Shop for not creating merchandise after his WrestleMania 40 bout against Seth Rollins. During the event, the WWE champion took a moment to go to the ringside and borrow his cell phone from his wife so he could tweet out: “Bored at work. LOL!”


This stunt gained popularity on social media and however, on April 7, 2025, one year after the incident, he expressed his frustration on social media, citing, “Fact: I asked @WWEShop if they could make this into a shirt. But I guess 39m views and 34,000 retweets weren’t enough for them to take notice…Either way, happy anniversary.”
