NEW DELHI: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his visit to poll-bound Bihar, claiming that "electoral force" was drawing the PM to the state.
In a social media post on X, Lalu accused the Prime Minister of coming to Bihar to "tell lies".
"Would you like to hear lies?" he mockingly asked.
He shared an image suggesting that while gravitational force pulls objects downward, electoral force pulls politicians toward Bihar.
Meanwhile, his son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also attacked the Prime Minister and posted a satirical itinerary of PM Modi's one-day visit to the state.
“First and foremost, Prime Minister Ji will feel immensely proud to honour leaders at Motihari who indulged in mutton parties during Sawan, whilst publicly showcasing the hypocrisy of his sermons,” Tejashwi said in a post on X.
“He will felicitate the Bihar Police for labelling farmers as criminals,” he added.
This comes a day after PM Modi announced his visit to Motihari in Bihar where he will launch development projects worth Rs 7,200 crore will either be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.
He will also lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of the Ara bypass on NH-319, a key link between Ara-Mohania (NH-319) and Patna-Buxar (NH-922), which is expected to improve connectivity and reduce travel time.
PM Modi's visit comes amid an ongoing row over the surge in crime in the state.
Additionally, the RJD put up a poster outside its office in Patna, raising questions about the law and order situation in Bihar.
The poster features a screengrab from a purported ‘mutton party’ video showing Union minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh. This comes after Singh hosted a ‘mutton party’ in Lakhisarai — part of his Munger Lok Sabha constituency.
Taking a dig at the Union minister, Tejashwi said, “BJP would now say that it is punya that Lalan Singh is feeding mutton to his people and workers, because he is their ally and a Union minister. They won’t say anything now.
When PM comes here tomorrow, I hope he will speak on Lalan Singh - that he is feeding mutton in Sawan,” Tejashwi told PTI Video, in a sarcastic response to the PM’s earlier criticism of him over a similar issue.
