There is massive outrage over the release of Karmelo Anthony , a US teen accused of fatally stabbing fellow student Austin Metcalf , in an apparent act of self-defence on April 2. He walked out on Monday, spending only 12 days in jail, after his family paid the $250,000 bond, reduced from $1 million.

That the Anthony family is planning to relocate to a new home with the money raised for Karmelo's legal fight, has only amplified the outrage. Over $420,000 has been donated to them in an online fundraiser after the teen received "threats."
Who is Karmelo Anthony?
The 17-year-old is a native of Frisco and a football player at the Frisco Centennial High School. As per the Frisco Police report, he had an altercation with Metcalf, an athlete and a football player, at the Frisco Memorial High School. The verbal dispute occurred at an athletics competition at the city's Kuykendall Stadium on April 2.
The altercation turned physical and one student stabbed the other (Metcalf), resulting in the death of the 16-year-old. Later, the suspect was identified as Anthony and charged with a first degree felony.
According to reports, while being taken into custody, he asked officers if what he did could be considered "self-defence." He is also believed to have asked if the victim was going to be fine.
