Karkala: A 21-year-old student of Nitte College has been arrested in connection with provocative graffiti found on the wall of a women’s hostel toilet, allegedly written in a way that could incite hatred between two communities.
The incident occurred on May 7 around 6 PM, when offensive and obscene words were found scribbled on the wall of a restroom on the first floor of the main women’s hostel. It was initially suspected that some students from the hostel were involved in the act.
Following a complaint filed by the manager of the main women’s hostel, a case was registered at the Karkala Rural Police Station.
After investigation, police arrested the accused, Fatima Shabna (21), a student of Nitte College and a resident of Kasaragod district in Kerala, on July 14. She was produced before the Karkala court.
